David Lewis
President
David has over 27 years of domestic and international experience in oil & gas exploration and production. He has a management and a functional background in drilling, completions, offshore structures and a strong engineering background with experience in deepwater, big bore (mono bore) and high pressure-high temperature wells. His experience includes developing a material and well design training course on reliability based design methods for wellbore tubulars and deepwater floating drilling. He also has specific expertise in technology management, deepwater drilling, HPHT wells, reliability based design, tubulars, connections, marine drilling risers, conductors, pipelines, offshore structures, down-hole equipment, project management, training and finite element analysis. David is the CEO of Blade Energy Partners. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas, member of ASCE, SPE, and serves on numerous API and ISO committees. He has authored or co-authored 25 industry papers. Education includes a BS degree and MS degree in Civil Engineering from University of Missouri-Rolla; and postgraduate doctoral work in finite element methods, continuum mechanics, vibrations, and structural dynamics.
Pat Brand Executive Vice President, Operations Pat has over 27 years of professional experience in project leadership and management with extensive experience with underbalanced drilling projects including feasibility studies, technical support and advising. His project management includes project manager for the Maxus Krisna, Shell E11 SC2, Shell St. Joseph and the bp Alaska UBD projects. UBD Advisor for Kufpec Lola Kecil and ExxonMobil ARUN Big Bore and PASE UBD projects.Pat has developed and taught an Advanced Underbalanced Well Design Course and is a certified instructor on the IADC UBD Well Control course. He has performed UBD feasibility studies for fields in Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, Japan and Indonesia and is an expert in Neotechnologies Wellflow multiphase simulator and multiphase temperature simulation. Pat is also one of the founding partners of Blade Energy. He is a registered professional engineer for the State of Texas, Past Chairman of the IADC Underbalanced Drilling Committee, and a member of Chi Epsilon Civil Engineering Honor Society. He has authored or co-authored papers in the industry, many relating to UBD design and testing. Education credits include a BS degree in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University. Ravi Krishnamurthy
Executive Vice President Metallurgy and Corrosion Materials Science
Ravi has over 18 years of experience in the upstream and downstream oil and gas industry, especially in metallurgical engineering, fracture mechanics, sour service design, pipeline integrity and corrosion engineering. He is an expert in applications of in-line inspection to pipeline integrity. Ravi received his Ph.D in Materials Science from the University of Virginia.
PV (Suri) Suryanarayana
Executive Vice President, Engineering, Research, and Development
Suri has 18 years of professional experience including an extensive background in tubular mechanics, Coiled Tubing technology, multiphase flow modeling and probabilistic design (Quantitative Risk Analysis) techniques. He is currently one of the lead instructors for Blade in their Advanced UBD Well Design and Advanced UBD Flow Modeling courses. He has extensive experience in the design, engineering and implementation of complex UBD projects. Lately, he has been very active in reservoir-based probabilistic valuation of UBD, and quantitative assessment of the impact of formation damage during conventional drilling. Suri is also one of the founding partners of Blade Energy and is a member of several organizations including SPE. He has authored or co-authored over 37 archival papers in the industry; several of them in CT technology and UBD. Education credits include a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Rice University. Sriram Vasantharajan
Executive Vice President Integrated Studies Reservoir Management Sriram has over 20 years of industry experience, with an extensive knowledge of theory and application of Operations Research/Optimization techniques. He also has significant experience with state-of-the-art LP, NLP, and MIP mathematical algorithms and software packages, and with general modeling environments (eg. GAMS, AIMMS, Excel). His work spans both the Upstream and Downstream sectors and has specialized in developing and applying optimization models to enhance economic value of oil and gas assets. Sriram received a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. Jim Wooten Executive Vice President, Outside Operations Jim has 28 years of professional experience in project management, supervision and engineering. He has managed operations which included UBD operations, logistical coordination and was the Senior Drilling Supervisor for North Sumatra Offshore. His experience also includes conducting an exploration program in Equatorial Guinea, the UK sector of the North Sea, West Africa with semi-submersible drilling units. Other expertise include development and implementation of innovative operational techniques for mud cap drilling and drilling Underbalanced in high rate, depleted and highly fractured gas zones. IADC well classifications ranged from Level 1 to 5 operations. His education credits include an Applied Science degree in Petroleum Technology from Kilgore College.
